At TAILS, every cat deserves a second chance.

These are the stories of cats who were rescued, rehabilitated, and welcomed into loving homes — thanks to the dedication of our volunteers and supporters like you.

Amumu the rescued cat before and after adoption by TAILS foster family.

Amumu (formerly T-Rex)

Amumu, nicknamed Mu, arrived at TAILS after another shelter ran out of space. He came from a local site where the owner had been cited for animal cruelty. His fur was matted and thin in places, and he even appeared to have uneven legs. Thanks to careful veterinary care, treatment, and the love of his foster family, Mu regained his health and confidence—and eventually won their hearts.

Tin Man and Scarecrow the rescued cats after adoption through TAILS

Tin Man & Scarecrow

“I adopted my bonded pair, Tin Man and Scarecrow, about a year and a half ago. They just turned 2 and bring so much joy every day. When they’re not hiding my shoes or exploring cabinets, they love bird watching and snuggles. Watching them grow from shy kittens into loving, playful companions has been amazing—they even greet me at the door when I come home from work. They make every day brighter!”

Thank you for your update, Elana!

Lola & Kona

Lola, a 4-year-old orange cat adopted in 2023, loves sunbathing in every sunny spot, cuddling on laps, and chasing her feather toy.

Kona, a 2-year-old gray-and-black cat adopted in 2024, enjoys watching birds, chasing the laser pointer, and sitting atop high surfaces like the fridge or fireplace mantle.

Together, they fill their home with love, play, and a little chaos—proof that adoption brings endless joy.

Eddie & Fiona

“My family adopted two cats from TAILS in 2020—they are now 5 years old. Their favorite activities are lounging on the couch and cuddling with us! Something funny about them is if you enter our house you have to pay the brush tax (they love getting brushed!)

Owning cats has changed my life. Cats are such positive energy to have around, and as someone who struggles with anxiety, I’ve noticed it has improved greatly since adopting my cats.”

Thank you Bridget for sharing your personal story.
